BENZYL ISOCYANIDE - Introduction
Benzyl (benzonitrile) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H5CN. The following is a description of the nature, use, preparation and safety information of benzazonium:

-Appearance: Benzylisonitrile is a colorless liquid with a special cyano odor.
-Density: 1.0g/cm³.
-Melting point:-13 ℃.
-Boiling point: 191 ℃.

Use:
-as an important raw material in organic synthesis, can be used for the preparation of drugs, dyes, spices and pesticides and other compounds.
-in organic synthesis reaction, commonly used as a source of cyano, can occur with other compounds nucleophilic addition, substitution reaction.
-can also be used as a solvent, in the paint, adhesive and glue and other industrial products play the role of dissolution and dilution.
Preparation Method:
-Benzylisonitrile is generally formed by benzyl cyanide. First, phenyl bromide is reacted with sodium cyanide to produce benzonitrile. Benzonitrile is then subjected to acid-catalyzed hydrolysis by hydrolysis to obtain benzonitrile.
-Benzylisonitrile can also be prepared by cyanation of phenyl alcohol.

-Benzylisonitrile can cause eye and skin irritation, avoid contact with skin and eyes.
-Wear protective glasses, gloves and protective clothing during operation.
-Isonitrile compounds are volatile, so maintain good ventilation conditions during operation.
